Yesterday was a happy day. I shopped, cycled, swam, ate a lot of ice cream, watched the footballgame and saw no grumpy people. I watched the game with a girl who's mother is Brazilian, she was a little disappointed but not that much.=) I was an extra sweet victory, because we all thought we would lose.

Yesterday, I made this fruity salad with chicken. Again a recepy from the Albert Heijn website (Albert Heijn is a supermarket in the Netherlands) It was fresh!

Today, I'll spend the day canoeing with my schoolclass, to say 'goodbye' (this is the last schoolday =D ). It wil be around 22 °C!

Do you remember? A few weeks ago, I wrote about Diane Birchs song Valentino.
She recorded a duet with the Dutch singer Alain Clark. It is on his new (incredible relaxing) album 'Colorblind'. If you like Prince or Stevie Wonder, this is is a bit like their music (may I say that?)

Running blog nr. 1/14

Finally! Yesterday evening I went running in my neighbourhood. It was an intervaltraining like this:

2 minutes of running
1 minute of walking
3 minutes of running
2 minutes of walking
6 minutes of running
2 minutes of walking
6 minutes of running
2 minutes of walking
7 minutes of running
2 minutes of walking

I could do it and it was actually not that bad. The temperature was perfect and I was listening to nice music. Currently, I'm following a scheme. I still have to complete 13/28 of the scheme. In the end I have to be able to run 5 km in 30 minutes.

Do you know this Video-Blogger? I didn't until now, although he is the most subscribed YouTuber in the UK, with over 350,000 regular viewers! He makes quite interesting videos. So interesting that I didn't do my homework at all (that is also due to the beautiful wheater, the strecher in my garden and the dull school books). The videos are really, really funny! The Hague (cupcakes)

Today I was in The Hague with school, because the Dutch government is settled there. We even saw Jan Peter (Balkenende, our minister-president) and we went to the Tweede Kamer, where the Parliament takes decisions.

During the pause I ate a the Dudok Café a very sweet cupcake from Lily's Cupcakes. These cupcakes look so beautiful! Unfortunately, I didn't have my camera with me...so I ripped some photo's of there site. I had this one:

It's called: Sparkling Vanilla and it's "the original" at Lily's Cupcakes. My friend ate this one, "Very Berry Vanilla":

And yes, they really look that good in real life. They are good, but not the best cupcakes I ever had.

Cello Festival

Last Thursday I went to the Cello Festival in Dordrecht with some other students that play the cello. We saw a masterclass and a concert by Lucia Swarts. It was about the Cello Suites by Bach. Because of Ascension-day in Holland, the shops were closed and it was very quiet on the streets. We drank warm chocolate in a very cute café. When I came home, I almost directly started to play my instrument!

From Wednesday till this day's afternoon I was in Belgium, the Ardennes. We went to a little house we're we have been several times. There is a lot of wood and not so much things to do, except hiking, reading and eating. ;D ! I've read a lot in Framed for English. It's a children's book, but I think it is very humorous.

So, I'm very relaxed now. Tomorrow I have to go to school again...

Yesterday I made a lovely recepy with couscous, green beans, pine nuts, onion, 2 sweet peppers and beef.

It's easy to make. I'll try to tell you how in bad English haha.

First you have to cook the green beans 5 min. and prepare the couscous. Then roast the pine nuts. Heat oil in a skillet and fry the onion. The ad the beef and bake it loose/sandy (?). Ad the peppers (in parts). Ad salt and pepper. Mix everything and put the pine nuts and some fresh mint on top.

ext Monday and Tuesday, the school musical will be performed. I'm already a bit nervous ( I play in the orchestra/big band). May be I buy some new clothes. The dress code is black and a white bow.

The musical is written by Annie M.G. Schmidt (do you know Jip & Janneke) and Harry Bannink.

I tried to translate a description:

" The story takes place in a guesthouse for revue artists in the ' 30. Josien, a girl from the provinces, is a new guest. She falls in love with gay singer Jules. And, even worse, she becomes pregnant by an unknown man. She uses abortus, tries to kill herself, but there is a happy ending.

It's a musical from the ' 70 with a lot of heavy topics, like abortus and homosexuality, in it. Although this sounds very sad, it's very funny and the songs are great.

During my Trier-trip I had a lot of ice-cream and yesterday I made my homework in the garden.

I had a iPod! And in Trier I bought new shoes, that's very logical if you know the shoes I was wearing...(I'll post a photo later.)

And all my marks that count for my exams are above 7,8!!! This afternoon I'll go climbing with a friend, bake pancakes and watch some tv.

Alice in Wonderland

Yesterday I went to this movie. I saw it on a very big screen and in 3D.

The story was not that good. I think the end is a bit disappointing. But the movie looks beautiful. There are so much details to see: the costumes, the animals, the nature. Johnny Depp is great as a really mad Mad Hatter and there are a lot of crazy characters in 'Wonderland'.
